Having worked in 3d for many years and coupled with my conceptual creative skill sets, I was tasked to create a new children's toothbrush. having not much Product design experience I ambitiously jumped into the project. How to get Kids to want to Brush their teeth? That was my challenge.

The first step was to figure out what the toothbrush would look like or represent, I decided to create a shape that would ergonomically fit inside a child's hand and then build the character around that. After multiple revisions, I got my first prototype back and it needed some more work. with a list of features I wanted the toothbrush to have, I tasked the manufacturing team in china to create a revised sample, based on the 3d model I had designed. All BPA-free, food-grade plastics, and Reclycbale.

Sample no 2 was a giant leap. But there were still fundamental elements with the product that I needed to address. I researched kids toothbrushing devices, consulted with a dental Practitioner regarding this, and came up with a brand-new design and solution. more waterproof, wireless charging, ergonomic, U-Shaped brushing for kids aged 2-8 in 2 x sizes, and then an extra LED toothbrush head for kids aged 9 and up. This next adapted head is still in development but it has been tested and it cleans as well if not better than any other electric toothbrush on the market while being more fun and inviting for kids the world over. Besides the brushing challenges, I was faced with the actual foam toothpaste. our first release was fluoride free for younger kids but I felt this wouldn't help older kids who do need fluoride for optimal cleaning, so I had fluoride and non-fluoride versions made in the standard brand-specific Strawberry flavor. Having kids of my own I knew the best next thing for Wiggle as a product would be variety so I developed 5 flavors for kids and had them manufactured. I did market research on the most popular flavors for kids the world over and narrowed it down to the most obvious. Strawberry, watermelon, apple, banana, and Cotton Candy. All in FLuoride and Fluoride-free options.

Added to this I then had them develop 5 new exciting colors specifically based on research and very cool exciting brands.

The idea I had behind the option changeable skins was to allow the brand to be able to monetize Wiggle with other brands like football clubs, Disney characters, or car brands but for now, it's just available in funky bright colors.

During this process, I was still running day-to-day Creative Direction and Design for the brand and designing all the packaging layouts as well as all the Marketing collateral to launch Wiggle, which include Social media posts, animated promos, and filmed and edited TV-style promo commercials.

I never thought I would be tasked to do anything like this but I now know how much I enjoyed the process and hope to learn and do even more.

Being creative, my mind doesn't shut off and I've already come up with even more concepts and products I would love to develop. Can't wait to see what happens next...
